Coconut oil is highly under estimated as a beauty product. I grew up around coconuts. Coconut water, coconut milk, desserts made with coconut. When I was a little girl, I remember my grandfather making a sugar holder out of the coconut shell. I still remember it to this day! =)
My colleague from work reignited my interest in coconuts, but this time, the oil. Coconut oil has so many benefits. I love love love to use it on my skin. I know what you must be thinking. Coconut oil for the skin?? Yes, for the skin. I decided to do some research and found that the health benefits are amazing. I know because for the past 3 months, I've been using it- I'm using it to cook with, for the skin, for the hair and pretty much in general these days.
Refined or Unrefined? That depends on you. Unrefined simply means that it has not been cleaned or bleached. Therefore, it will have the scent of coconut, the taste of coconut. So, if you do not like the taste or smell, your better off getting refined or Virgin.
There are so many things you can do with this. You can make your own hair mask, your own skin scrub with sea salt, sugar or coffee grinds and you can make a nice healthy dinner for your family. I use both in my house. I use the virgin unrefined to cook with and both refined and unrefined on my skin. For the summer, one of the main essentials is to have the beautiful glowing smooth skin right? This is how I get that. I use sea salt, sugar or coffee and make an exfoliating scrub and it leaves my skin literally glowing. Add a little shimmer to the oil when you get out of the shower and you will become so touchable!
Aside from the benefits it has for the skin on the outside, but I helps fight Alzheimer's disease and helps restore memory. It cleared my son's eczema as if he never had it at all. This oil is truly an amazing product for so many things, it keeps your hair and skin so healthy and beautiful inside and out. I also got tired of asking my colleague to get me bottles (the jars in the stores we anywhere from $6.99 to $9.99). SO, I did my research and found an amazing deal on Amazon. Since I use so much of it, I got two 54 oz. tubs (Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut oil, this is Unrefined) for $49.00- You better believe I jumped on it! I gave the other tub to my colleague, of course she was thrilled! Now I have enough for the whole summer, and I get to use some for cooking and store some in separate containers (one in my bathroom and one in my bedroom, even one for my son) and use it all year around. It truly is amazing.
My recommendation is for everyone to use this. Its healthy for your heart, skin (it's a natural sunscreen too!) and amazing for hair masks. Its recommended to eat 1 table spoon a day for memory and intestinal health, even to make your skin healthy from the inside out. Really great for mommies with the "mommy brains" aka memory loss from pregnancy. Give it a try! They have smaller jars in Walmart and Whole food or any health store. Beautiful Hair.....with Viviscal
The very first product I am going to review is Viviscal. Viviscal is a vitamin hair nutrition program for healthier hair period. I started using this product in October of 2011 and I love it!
I came across this product in a magazine on my way to Miami on a girls weekend. Models use this product because their hair is so over worked and processed that Viviscal helps keep it growing and nourishes it while going thru so much processing for fashion shows, shoots and commercials. Makes so much sense! So, I thought, I am going to give this a try. I bought my first box on Amazon (they sold it a little cheaper for one box, if I didn't like it, I felt like I would not have lost much.)
What it does is it nourishes thinning hair and promotes existing hair growth. I started taking this because to me, after having my children, my hair never really grew back the way it used to grow. Now, anyone that knows me, they can testify that I am obsessed with having healthy, shiny beautiful hair. This has given my hair its health back.
Viviscal contains AminoMar C Marine Complex. What does that mean? It means healthy stuff from the ocean aka deep sea fish. It does contain fish ingredients and its gluten-free.
What did I notice after taking it for three months? I noticed new hair growth, my eyelashes were super long. I had people asking me if I got my lashes done! My nails also grew in harder, healthier and super fast. I decided to cut my hair in January. I did that so I can get rid of the empty ends and since I had such nice new growth, it was a great move.
